My story

Amalfi (Fifi) has been with us three weeks now and we are increasingly sure she is the goodest most elegant girl with the softest puppy dog ears. Gentle, loving, smart, and above all sweet. She's housetrained, and is always happy to see you. She exhibits that classic pitty butt wag. Her soft beige coloring is so gorgeous she looks like she walked in out of a fairytale. She's the first doggo I've met with laugh lines when she smiles. People often ask me if she's a puppy, maybe because of how shiny her fur is and how excited she is to greet people. But when she's home she's a lazy couch potato. Unless there's a fly in the room, in which case she is on the hunt! Hey, flies are full of protein. She'd make a great family dog because of how gentle and calm she is. One thing to know about her is she will not fetch your balls for you. She's too much of a lady for that. Also, she doesn't do long staircases, but I don't think that's a physical problem, she just never learned to climb stairs. She does climb the stairs to get in and out of the house. Pretty sure she could be taught to climb longer staircasees.  Personality & Characteristics:My foster dog shows interest in dogs on her walks, but doesn't bark at them; She wants to say hi to all the dogs. I don't know about cats; she's great with my 12 year old kid and very gentle with small children. We have not had her off leash with other dogs yet. My foster dog sleeps in her crate with the door open. She is house trained. I don't notice much shedding. 3 Keywords for your pup: Gentle, smart and sweet. Energy Level (1= calm, 10= high energy): 4 (she is very calm in the house but gets more energetic on walks) Barker? Or Quiet Pup?: Quiet, but barks happily when someone comes to the door. Can be left alone no problem. Doesn't chew furniture or pee in the house. She used to bark when people walked by the house but she was easily trained not to do that.  Walking Manners: She wants to sniff the things she wants to sniff but can be redirected easily. My child walks her with no problems. Appetite: She's been eating about 1-1.5 bags of Farmer's dog food each day. She's not intested in dog treats but loves the sausage we wrap her medication in. Favorite Things: Flies (loves to chase flies in the house), snuggles, walksCommands/Tricks: Sit ALL adoptions require a completed application and final contract. The application can be found at  WaldosRescue.org  and once you are approved to adopt you will be put in touch with the foster to see if it’s a good match. We are a RESCUE not a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. We are unable to contact every applicant for every dog.  We will select the best applicant for each dog, based on the dogs needs. Waldos Rescue Pen is a 501c3 whose primary focus is rescuing dogs from the euthanasia list from high kill shelters throughout the United States and Korea. ##2420814##

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Amalfi, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
