My story

Looking for a hilarious, happy, floppy ball of sunshine in puppy form? That’s Laverne in a (very large) nutshell! At just 3 months old, this big girl is bursting with love, personality, and the kind of goofy energy that makes you laugh out loud. She’s an 8 out of 10 on the energy scale, but it’s all tail wags, silly hops, and floppy-legged zoomies — truly the comedic relief your home’s been missing!Laverne is thriving in crate training (with a few puppy-style oopsies still happening), and she’s doing well with house training as long as she gets frequent outdoor breaks. She’s rocking her leash walks with a harness and would benefit from a gentle leader as she grows into her paws — and trust us, she’s growing fast! She’s been a sweet, respectful companion to her canine foster siblings. A playful pup in her new home would be ideal — someone who can show her the ropes and keep up with her goofy games. Laverne has also been a sweetheart with her young foster human and wants to be close to him whenever she can.Cats? Well, she’s got some houndy instincts, so she’ll need supervision and training — she’s curious and calm when cats are still but gets tempted to chase when they run. The potential is there, but it’ll take patience. This bug-hunting, toy-loving pup is surprisingly calm in the car — she’ll nap or quietly watch the world go by — and will steal your heart with her silky coat, giant paws, and soulful golden eyes that seem to say “Will you be my person?”An active home and a playful doggy buddy would help this growing girl thrive. She’s sweet. She’s silly. She’s Laverne — and she’s ready to be your new best friend. Adopt Laverne and let the floppy, happy adventures begin! She is spayed, microchipped, and vaccinated and her adoption fee is $350. Apply today at mpravl.org!  All Mountain Pet Rescue (Asheville) animals are up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed/neutered and micro-chipped before adoption. Contact the foster parent or Mountain Pet Rescue at pets@mpravl.org for more information. Please note that visual breed identification of companion animals has been proven to be unreliable, so for most of our animals we provide a best guess at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our animals as an individual and do our best to describe and place pets based on personality not breed label. Mountain Pet Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit tax deductible charity (EIN 82-3039637) located in Asheville, NC. June 8, 2025, 1:28 am

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Laverne, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
