My story

SJ is the sweetest senior and most wonderful companion, finally ready for his forever home! Can he snuggle with you? SJ (aka Jay Jay) is approximately 10 years old, a terrier mix, and weighs 13 lbs. SJ is the most well-behaved little guy, he is so mellow and perfectly house broken. SJ gets along with other dogs and cats :) He may be a little shy when first meeting people but he quickly warms up. He loves belly rubs and being brushed - everything makes him so happy! He loves his little toys and his current favorite is his little pink piggy. He did great when at the groomers - and of course looked adorable, too! SJ enjoys short walks and looong naps, zzz. Sadly, we did not meet SJ under happy circumstances. This poor senior dog was surrendered by his owner simply because he was suffering from a painful hernia. Then, not only was he in physical pain, but he had his heart broken as well. Because of his medical issues, he was almost euthanized at the shelter but thankfully, a wonderful foster stepped up to save him. Even though he had been through so much, he never complained or lost his spirit. His foster pampered him, sponsored his second hernia surgery, monitored neuter surgery and even got him a full dental, too! Now, SJ feels better than ever and is ready for the rest of his life to begin! Apply to adopt SJ at AmsterDog.org/application Thanks for adopting, not shopping! Follow SJ's foster (who frequently has smaller sized friends, too) on Instagram at @steveforino

If you have any questions or would like to adopt SJ, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
