Charlie came to CPR after an animal attack left him needing surgery to remove one of his eyes and stitch up a leg. After just a week of recovery, he made it clear that none of this would slow him down. Charlie loves to explore the backyard and run around playing fetch with his favorite toys. He’s not afraid to go after the mouse living under your porch, and he’ll be sure to let you know if there’s a stranger nearby. But Charlie isn’t just a tough guy—he has a huge soft spot for the people he loves. His favorite pastime is curling up in your lap to watch TV or take a nap. Add a cozy blanket, and he may never get up. Charlie is 2.5 years old, which makes him a great match for someone past the puppy stage but still wanting a playful, loyal companion with a lot of life left. He’s crate trained, but if he can see you, he might make a little noise just to remind you he’s there. He’s house trained and prefers to go potty outside, but during the first few weeks in a new home, it’s best to keep an eye on him. Like a lot of dogs, he may try to mark his territory. Charlie has been living in a foster home with two large dogs. While he doesn’t mind them, he’d prefer a dog buddy who actually wants to play. He also has a few favorite toys he likes to protect, so it’s a good idea to correct any growling early to help prevent resource guarding. Overall, Charlie is a wonderful dog who’s already been through a lot in his 2.5 years. Now he’s ready to find a soft lap and a warm blanket to call his own.
