My story

DIAMOND IN THE RUFF: Mia is a gentle, affectionate senior cat looking for a quiet, loving home to spend her golden years. After her owner could no longer care for her, she came to ARF looking for comfort and she's been charming everyone she meets ever since. As a long-haired calico, Mia arrived with some matting and needed a fresh haircut. She may look a little silly right now, but her stunning coat is already growing back! Upon arrival, she was diagnosed with chronic kidney disease. This is a manageable condition that is common in older cats. Mia is doing well on her prescription diet and kidney supplement that our medical team has prescribed. Mia adores people. She loves to be pet, purrs at the slightest attention, and has a habit of meowing sweetly to her favorite humans. In fact, she’s so friendly that it's nearly impossible to take her picture—she keeps walking right up to the photographer for love! Though she may take a moment to adjust to new spaces or faces, once she feels safe, she is a loyal and loving companion. All Mia wants is a loving home and a lap to nap in.
