My story

Meet Zander! Zander is a majestic Great Pyrenees with the heart of a true guardian and the independent spirit to match. He takes his role as protector seriously—whether it’s a pasture, a backyard, or just your porch, he’ll make sure it’s secure with slow, purposeful patrols and that signature stoic gaze. Like any good livestock guardian, Zander is delightfully stubborn and prefers to do things on his own terms—but win his trust, and you’ll have a loyal companion for life! He’d thrive in a home with a large fenced yard or a farm where he can stretch his legs and do what he was born to do. His dog social skills can vary, so he may prefer to be your one-and-only four-legged partner. With Zander, you're not just adopting a dog—you're gaining a watchful, devoted presence who marches to the beat of his own (very fluffy) drum. Zander is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on all his vaccinations. You can meet him daily at the shelter between the hours of 12-6pm. For more information, email adoptions@caspca.org
