My story

We are working to get this boy into a foster home but we are hoping to get him adopted before his deadline through our rescue as we work to get one. He is on limited time and we want to find him the best home. His current person has posted this: "Urgent: Help Me Find a Home for My Husky, Yizzreal, Before June 16th – Or He’ll Be Euthanized This is the hardest thing I’ve ever had to write. I need to rehome my beloved 7-year-old husky, Yizzreal, by June 16th—or he will be euthanized. I am absolutely devastated. But I’m writing this in the hope that someone, somewhere, will open their heart and home to this amazing dog. Yizzreal is so much more than a pet. He’s been my companion through some of the darkest moments of my life. He’s loyal, loving, goofy, and gentle—once he knows you. He’s protective, intelligent, and so full of personality. He has been an emotional support to me in ways I never expected; he even alerts me when I’m struggling with a mental health episode. I didn’t train him to do that—he just knows. That’s the kind of soul he is. But I can no longer keep him, and it’s breaking my heart. Why I'm Rehoming Him : Yizzreal has a strong prey drive, and unfortunately, due to an accident where he got out and harmed a smaller animal, we are now in a situation where his life is at risk. It was not out of aggression—it was instinct, and it could have been prevented. That’s why I need to find him a home that can meet his needs safely and responsibly. He is not suitable for homes with small dogs or animals that may trigger that prey response. If you have young children who frequently open doors and come in and out, or if you’re unsure you can consistently prevent escapes, then sadly, this may not be the right match. I say that with love, because I want to make sure no more accidents happen—and that Yizzreal finally finds peace and safety." He is a 7 year old Husky. He needs a Grain-free only (he has grain allergies). He is kind, gentle, and loving once he bonds with the family. Playful and cuddly, loves to sleep with his person. He's protective but not aggressive. Prefers the company of female dogs; has lived peacefully with three other dogs in the past Does not do well with small dogs and has pretty drive so no cats either. "Behavioral Notes: He growls sometimes, but it’s not aggression—it's his way of communicating discomfort Never bitten anyone Muzzle trained (he actually loves it—it means car rides or walks!) Potty trained and never gets into the trash Doesn’t bark at other animals, but will bark during my mental health episodes to alert or comfort me Follows me everywhere—he’s a true companion The Ideal Home for Yizzreal: No small dogs or cats No frequent unsupervised door openings (no young kids running in/out unless strictly managed) A calm, loving environment with people who understand huskies or are willing to learn Ideally a yard, or someone committed to leashed exercise Someone patient and willing to bond with him—he’s truly special once he feels safe Please—don’t scroll past this. Don’t wait. If you’re reading this and feel like you could give Yizzreal the forever home he deserves, reach out immediately. If you know someone who might be able to help, please share this. Thank you for taking the time to read this. Thank you for caring. I’m still holding onto hope that someone out there will see the light in Yizzreal the way I do. With love and urgency, Yizzeeals momma"

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Yizzreal, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
