My story

We have a transport where we will be personally taking our dogs home leaving on 6/14/25 to NorCal and OR. Surrounding states will be added to our route if needed ☺️ We would love to add Allan to our trip for the right home 💕 Meet Alan! He is a shih tzu/poodle mix. He has more of the wavy, thick poodle coat and yes! He is hypoallergenic so you won't have to worry about him shedding. He turns 2 years of age on 11/28/25. He is a good size boy (sturdy but cuddly like a baby bear 🐻 💙.) He weighs right under 15 lbs. Yes, he is full grown and at a very healthy weight. He is neutered, microchipped, current on all of his 1 year vaccines, and had a wonderful exam with our vet who has cleared him to find a home all his own! He is house trained, and will let you know when he needs to go outside if you don't ask him in time. We fo have him on a good schedule, where we take him out every 3-4 hours and he has been doing really great with that and rarely asks to be let out in between so I would recommend the same routine in his next home 😊 He is not very fond of the crate but will use it if he needs to and you need to step out of the house without him. He is very well behaved in the home, so once he is acclimated and feels secure in his next home I'm certain he won't need a crate, and he will agree 😅 He is leash trained and LOVES his walks! He is very good at staying by your side, and loves meeting new people and animals along the way. He is very friendly, and wants everyone to know they have a new friend in him so be prepared to let him say his hellos 😊 He is wonderful with all dogs and cats alike and would make a great friend to another sweet dog or cat in his next home. If there aren't any new animal friends he will be just as happy having his new human/family to himself! He is a total ham and will soak up attention however he can get it from you! He has very expressive eyes!! He will "pretend" he is "sleepy" when you ask him something and he very much hopes he gets away with it (like sneaking into bed with you in the middle of the night having you wake up to him snuggled next to you and not knowing how he got up there 😂) He is a total lover of a boy and just likes being near him humans whenever and however he can make that happen! He is NOT a barker, but is very good at alerting you of unfamiliar noises. He wants to keep you alert and safe yourself, so he prides himself in doing just that! He does listen very well, and will stop the moment he knows you have it covered. He likes to make his human proud of him, and will be happy just getting praised as a "good boy." And if treats follow he won't object one bit ha!! He is WONDERFUL on road trips of any length, and loves to be part of the adventures ahead, whether it's trip to the grocery store, to sit outside your favorite coffee shop, or to take a vacation where camping, trails, ocean, or hotels are involved! He is happy just knowing his company makes you happy so he will make sure you enjoy your time with him while he does the same with you 😊 He is perfect at the groomers, and enjoys his spa days very much. He loves being told how handsome he is, and is ALWAYS happy when you walk back through the salons doors to pick him up ❤️ His prior owners didn't have the time to raise a young dog, as they worked a lot and knew it wasn't fair leaving him home all alone every day. As they worked a lot of overtime which included weekends making their time with him very scarce. They wanted his heart to be full, and just knew they couldn't be the ones to do that so they reached out to us to take him in and find him the best home we could so here we are ❤️ His adoption fee is on our website at the bottom of his adoption listing at https://www.breadoflifek9refuge.org/post/allanAllan It covers his vetting costs. He is neutered, microchipped, current on all vaccines, and had slight allergies coming to us so he was given a cytopoint injection to relieve his allergies (and it worked like a charm!) Aside from that his overall exam went perfect with our vet. His adoption fee also goes back into the care involved in the time he has been with us, his grooming costs, and his training we have personally done.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Allan, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
