Juan

My story

A28307 Juan is a black colored, approximately 10-month-old, 12-pound, neutered male, Domestic Short-Haired cat. He entered the shelter as an owner surrender on 06-02-2025 due to the fact he had too many pets. Juan is a friendly, but timid and shy boy here at the shelter. He is still trying to understand this shelter environment and why he is here. He currently hides behind the litterbox, looking for that safe place. He will need a patient new owner who will give him love and the time to decompress. He may hiss at you when you first approach his kennel, but it is out of fear, not being mean. Our staff says that after they spent some time with him, he would roll over for belly rubs. It just takes some time and going slow for him to make him comfortable with you. In the playroom he cautiously explored and sniffed everything. But ultimately, he went underneath some furniture for a safe place to watch the room from. The previous owner says he is litterbox trained and has lived with both dogs and cats, but not children. Juan will be a loyal, loving family member in his new forever home.
