At around 2–3 years old and weighing 16 lbs, Miss Piggy is a lovely little CKC Spaniel mix with a heart full of gentleness and a soul that’s just beginning to shine. She came into the shelter with her pal Kermit (possibly her brother?), and while they’ve gone their separate ways in foster care, Miss Piggy is ready to step into the spotlight and find a loving home of her own. This quiet sweetheart has a gentle daily rhythm. She starts her mornings with a 30-minute walk around 7AM, followed by breakfast and some quality lounging time. On office days, she gets a second short walk before her foster heads out. The evening includes a longer walk around 5PM, dinner at 6PM, and a final stroll before bedtime around 10PM. Though she starts the night in her dog bed, she’s often found curled up in her foster's by morning. She’s independent but likes to be close, especially when you're relaxing on the couch—just don’t expect her to be a full-time lap dog… yet. Miss Piggy is a bit shy and nervous, especially with new people and experiences, but warms up beautifully with some affection and reassurance. She's not a velcro dog, but she likes to keep her favorite person in sight. She’s especially nervous around men right now— she may freeze or shake when approached —but with time, kindness, and consistent exposure, she’ll build trust and bond with men as well as women. If there are men in her new home, they'll just need to take their time and earn her trust - and yummy treats will help! Though she’s a lounging expert, she’s starting to have little bursts of playfulness as she settles in. And while leash walking is still a learning experience, she’s made big improvements in just a week with patience and encouragement. Indoors, she’s impressively well-behaved— no chewing, no barking, and she hasn’t had a single accident since learning the bathroom rules. Miss Piggy is crate-trained and content to be left alone during the day. She’s met other dogs on walks and is a little jumpy but generally does fine. While she hasn’t been around kids in foster care, she has a gentle, calm nature, so she would likely be okay with children of a similar temperament. Her ideal home? A quieter environment- she’s adapted well to apartment life. Most of all, she needs a patient and nurturing person to help her come fully out of her shell and discover just how much love and joy the world can offer. Why adopt Miss Piggy? Because beneath that timid exterior is a truly sweet, loving dog who just wants to feel safe and loved. She may need a little time—but if you give her that, she’ll reward you with a calm, devoted, and gentle companionship that lasts a lifetime. Ready to give Miss Piggy the love she’s been waiting for?June 5, 2025, 4:19 am
