Name: SolsticeBirthday: March 31Gender: MaleBreed: Domestic Shorthair (Orange Tabby)Personality: Playful, sweet, affectionate – and such a good boy! Say hello to Solstice, lovingly called chubs, a little orange bundle of joy who’s ready to light up your life! Born on March 31, Solstice has been charming everyone he meets with his playful antics, soft purrs, and heart-melting gaze. From the moment he could walk, Sunny’s days have been filled with chasing toys, climbing to the highest perch he can find, and pouncing on anything that dares to move – even if it’s just a spot of sunshine coming through the window ! He loves to wrestle with his kitten brother, but when playtime is over, he’s quick to snuggle up for a cozy nap. Usually under a window so he can still bird watch when he wakes up. Solstice isn’t just a playful kitten – he’s also a very good boy. He’s learning quickly, uses his litter box like a champ, and always comes running when he hears a friendly voice or the sound of treats. He has a gentle, loving spirit and a curious mind that makes every day with him a delight. Whether he’s curling up in a sunbeam, chasing after a feather wand, or rubbing his head against your hand for affection, Solstice is always bringing smiles and warmth wherever he goes. Solstice is up to date on all his vaccinations (so far) and microchipped. He'll neutered in a few weeks. He’d thrive in a home where he can get plenty of attention, toys, and love. Bonus points if you have a window where he can birdwatch! Are you ready to welcome this little ray of sunshine into your heart and home? Come meet Solsticr today and see just how sweet and special this little orange boy really is! Solstice is too young to be eligible for a full adoption. However, he is eligible for our Foster-to-Adopt program! Foster-to-Adopt Program Details We are an all-volunteer, foster-based, non-profit organization We don’t have a physical location; all cats and kittens live in foster homes until they are formally adopted. Our foster-to-adopt program allows us to match cats and kittens with their forever family before they’re eligible for adoption. Eligible cats and kittens are placed in a foster’s home with the intention of adoption after required medical care is completed. Foster-to-Adopt foster parents are required to schedule and bring their cats(s) and/or kitten(s) to veterinary appointments at the Animal Medical Center of Richardson as needed. Foster-to-adopters must meet all of the eligibility requirements RHS has for adopters. Cats and kittens eligible for our foster-to-adopt program must pay a $50 non-refundable deposit at time of drop-off that will be deducted from the animal’s adoption fee of $135. Our Adoption Process: Meet the Adoption Criteria. Before you do anything else, make sure you meet our adoption criteria. You must be at least 21 years old. You must live within a 60-mile radius of Richardson, Texas. You must share veterinary records for all pets currently in your home and all pets owned in the last five years. All pets in the home must be spayed or neutered. If you rent your home, you must provide verification that pets are allowed on the property. You must be willing to be interviewed by an adoption counselor and you must undergo an in person or virtual home visit from an RHS representative. Complete Application. https://www.richardsonhumanesociety.org/adopt/ Phone Interview/Vet Check. If all the steps above are completed satisfactorily, we will set up a visit where you can meet the pet you are interested in. We will try to include the foster parent so you can learn more about how the pet is in a home environment.
