Elke von Reina is a gorgeous 4 month old long haired German Shepherd puppy. This stunning puppy is turning heads wherever she goes with her soft red-and-black coat and calm, soulful eyes. At around 40 pounds already, Elke is well on her way to becoming a big, beautiful girl — and she’s just as sweet as she is striking. She is affectionate, playful, and wonderfully respectful with other dogs. She loves making canine friends but also knows when to settle down if her playmates are ready to rest. She’s even lived peacefully with cats in her previous home! Whether she’s romping with a buddy or curling up on her own for a cozy nap, she has a lovely balance of fun and independence. She comes from an impressive lineage — her father is an AKC-registered long-haired German Shepherd, and she inherited her stunning coloring from both parents. But Elke’s charm goes way beyond looks. Smart and eager to please, she’s doing great with crate training, sleeps through the night like a pro, and is making steady progress with potty training and leash walking. She’s a total cuddlebug who adores belly rubs and attention, but she’s also content to find a quiet corner for a solo snooze. She would thrive in a home with another dog to pal around with — or as your cherished one-and-only. Either way, she’s ready to fill your home with warmth, loyalty, and lots of love. Ready to fall in love? Elke might just be your perfect match. Owner surrender - too many dogs. Elke von Reina is in a foster home, offsite, and is NOT at our rescue location in Los Angeles. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN Elke von Reina YOU MUST FILL OUT AN APPLICATION ON OUR WEBSITE: www.sheprescue.org Application link: http://www.sheprescue.org/Application_to_Adopt_a_Dog%20Main.html Based on our experience, Westside's current thinking is to usually match first-time shepherd owners with a mix versus a purebred shepherd. Mixes are "softer" and somewhat more malleable. Exceptions can be made, however, for first-time adopters who show the confidence and leadership tendencies that purebreds will respect and respond to. Counselors have to use good judgment in assessing the attributes of the adopter, as well as of the dog. If you have doubts, get a second opinion from Robin or another experienced counselor.
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Elke von Reina, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
