My story

Meet Leaf, a 7-week-old kitten with a quiet charm and a heart full of potential! Leaf is a gentle soul—shy, calm, and still learning to trust the world around him. He may be reserved at first, but once he feels safe, his playful side begins to shine. He enjoys napping in cozy spots, scaling tall cat trees, chasing toys, and especially spending time with his feline friends.Leaf thrives with other cats and would do best in a home with a confident kitty companion to show him the ropes. He’s also done well around kids and dogs with proper introductions. While he can be a little spooked by sudden movements or shadows, Leaf is steadily gaining confidence in his foster home.He’s looking for a patient, loving adopter who will give him the time and space he needs to blossom. Could you be the one to help Leaf grow into the confident companion he’s meant to be?Leaf has an appointment in Providence, Rhode Island, for their spay/neuter on July 10, 2025. This appointment is included in the cost of adoption, but the adopter is responsible for getting the cat to/from the appointment (8 am drop off, 2 pm pick up).We are unable to reschedule this due to the limited availability of low-cost spay/neuter appointments. If you cannot accommodate a weekday appointment, we ask that you consider adopting a kitty that is already spayed/neutered.___________________________Spay & Neuter Disclosure:To facilitate adoptions and open more foster space, this kitten is being adopted with a spay-neuter adoption agreement. An appointment for services has been scheduled and the adopter will be responsible for transportation and post-surgical care. Appointment information will be provided during the application process and the spay/neuter cost is inclusive of the adoption fee. The adopter is responsible for providing an e-collar and monitoring the incision site for infection. Due to limited volunteer power, applications submitted for cats or kittens no longer available will not be reviewed. About Ten Lives:Ten Lives Cat Rescue is a 501(c)(3), nonprofit organization located in Rhode Island. Our foster-based program is 100% volunteer-powered. We do not have a facility or shelter with regular visiting hours. Out of respect for the time, privacy, and safety of our foster families, we require an approved adoption application before scheduling a meet and greet with a foster cat. Our goal is to place cats in their best-matched homes and facilitate lifelong adoptions. We do not review applications on a first-come, first-serve basis. We believe that veterinary care is an important part of cat guardianship. As such, a veterinary check is part of our adoption process. Our goal is to contact applicants within 96 business hours of receiving their application. During kitten season, wait times may be longer due to the influx of applications. We are all volunteers and kindly ask for your patience! All Ten Lives cats are spayed or neutered, receive age-appropriate vaccinations, tested for FIV/FeLv and parasites, dewormed, treated for fleas, and microchipped. These services are inclusive of the adoption fee.
