My story

🐾 Meet Kendra 🐾 Sweet • Shy • Snuggly Breed: Mixed Breed Age: ~10 months Weight: ~30 lbs Heartworm Status: Negative Energy Level: Low to Medium Ideal Home: Calm, adult-only home About Kendra: Kendra is a gentle, affectionate young pup who’s learning to trust and explore the world at her own pace. Once she feels comfortable, she loves to snuggle, give kisses, and soak up gentle affection. She’s quiet, calm, and full of love—you just need to give her a little time to come out of her shell. Kendra’s Personality: Timid at first, especially in new environments Freezes or hesitates when scared but responds well to calm encouragement Warms up quickly to women; more cautious around men After a few days of routine, she starts to relax and show a playful side Very affectionate once she feels safe Around the Home: ✅ Crate-trained – She uses her crate as a safe space ✅ House-trained – No accidents in her foster home! ✅ Quiet – Very little barking ✅ Treat-motivated – Loves snacks ✅ Learning to enjoy toys ✅ Knows “sit” (when she’s feeling confident) On the Leash & In the Car: 🚶‍♀️ Great leash manners with some pulling toward birds or dogs (non-reactive) 🚗 Calm in the car but needs to be lifted in; getting more comfortable with practice 🛑 May hesitate near parked cars—likely nervous she’s going for a ride Best Fit: Kendra needs a patient, adult-only home that will let her adjust at her own pace. She was visibly nervous around a child and gave one bark in discomfort. A quiet, predictable environment will help her thrive. Ready to Give Kendra the Safe, Loving Home She Deserves? Meet her at Guilford County Animal Services between 12pm-4pm any day but Tuesday!

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Kendra, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
