My story

Meet Taylor ACCT-A-221413! Taylor is a 14-yera-old male who came in as an owner surrender on 6/3 due to Taylor using the bathroom outside of the litter box. Medical Notes: Per an exam on 6/6: “14 year old cat, surrendered for inappropriate urination and defecation. Objective: -Eyes have nuclear sclerosis OU -Mild calculus and gingivitis -Unkempt coat, slight increase in turgor -Abdomen is soft, non-painful. Bladder small -Neutered male in slightly overweight body condition -Stiff, slow hind end gait w/ degenerative changes noted at stifles. Decreased ROM at hips Assessment: -Hindlimb osteoarthritis (tentative) -Inappropriate urination and defecation - r/o secondary to above +/- other -In house CBC/chem17/T4: globulin 5.6 g/dl, no other abnormalities -FELV/FIV test: neg/neg -In house U/A: SG = 1.050, no RBC noted Per an exam on 6/3: -Teeth have yellowing and tartar. -Scared -surrender for inappropriate elimination Behvaior Notes: Per staff 6/14: “Taylor seemed pretty unsure but allowed pets. He leaned in a little and enjoyed head scratches but go slow. He sniffed my hand and seemed unsure but allowed pets and began leaning in. Even jumped down from his shelf to get treats and solicit. Seemed to enjoy his treats.” Per owner: “Urinating and pooping all over the house. Lived with kids. Front paws declawed. Low energy. Scratches furniture and carpers/rugs. Overstimulation (scratches/bites when petted sometimes), Scratching on furniture/carpets, Urinating outside the litter box or "marking", Aggression towards children, Aggression towards dogs. Yes, has bitten a person, petting, brushing he will sometimes bite, but did not break the person's skin. Depends on the situation with strangers, nervous/fearful with children, aggressive with dogs. Sometimes while walking past him, he will swipe or attempt to bite you and while rubbing he will bite.” ACCT Philly is located at 111 West Hunting Park Ave in Philadelphia.
