My story

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Sanibel is an American Curl which is an uncommon breed.  She is also a Lynx Point Siamese.   She is an excellent Mom cat who is done raising her special kittens and ready to find her own forever home.  She is a vocal lady, always talking to her kittens and anyone else who will listen.  Right now, she is in protective Mom mode meaning she will not tolerate other cats near her kittens.  This may calm down with time and distance from her kittens.  She has met the dog in her foster home and has not really reacted to her.   The first American Curl appeared as a stray in Lakewood, California in June 1981. The black female, named Shulamith, gave birth to a litter of cats with the same backward curled ears, and so became the ancestor of all American Curls today. American Curl kittens are born with straight ears, which begin to curl within forty-eight hours into a unique shell shape.  After four months, their ears will not curl more and should be hard and stiff to the touch at the base of the ear with flexible tips.  The gene for the curled ears is a dominant one and Americal Curl's were crossbred with other cats who met the breed standard for personality and temperament which is playful, friendly, affectionate, inquisitive and easy going.  They   are known to be people oriented, intelligent and curious.   Estimated DOB:  4/15/24  Adoption fee: $200 (6% KY sales tax included)  We would love to hear from you! To inquire about this cat, please contact us via this site, visit our website sc4paws.org to see a full bio, or visit sc4paws.rescuegroups.org/forms/ to fill out our adoption application.
