My story

Please note potential additional costs for me to get to you near the bottom of my profile. Unfortunately, due to recently introduced CDC regulations, dogs from [China/Middle East] can no longer be imported into the US. Therefore [dog] is only available to Canadian residents. Due to current travel restrictions related to COVID-19, there may be a long delay before I can get to you. Please only apply for me if you are prepared to wait. Hello, future best friend! My name is Dama and here is a little info about me:Breed: Black German Shepherd Age: 9 monthsGender: FemaleWeight: 23 kgHighlights: Friendly and loyal  If you’re looking for an energetic pup to go on adventures with, I’m your girl! I have had a rough start to life. I was living on an empty plot of land on a remote road and only being fed and given water twice a week. They kept me there to guard tomatoes and cucumbers. I was being badly abused by the human there. I am now being kept at a boarding facility, hoping to find my furever family. Even though I went through a lot at a young age, I still have a big heart and a wagging tail.   I am a very sweet and affectionate pup who loves people. I would love to join you on all the adventures and car rides! I am great with all people and other dogs. I would do best in a home without those meowy things though.  When we are inside, you’ll find me to be a calm pup who is crate trained and not destructive or an escape artist. I used to go hungry a lot so when I look at you with those puppy eyes, I am just making sure I won’t be forgotten. If you’re looking for a companion with so much love to give, I am ready to meet you!   Here are some of the videos of myself with kids and other dogs:   https://youtu.be/BH_3kzCxO74https://youtu.be/UfTmIfgJOXM https://youtu.be/LkIxktkaK9k https://youtube.com/shorts/u9f5pQ2uY-8 Energy level: highI get along with:Dogs: yesCats: noKids: yesFears: None observed. Please be patient assisting me in my transition. Training:Leash skills: Yes. Please be prepared to continue trainingHouse trained: yes. Please help me learn where to go in my new home. Health notes: No physical health issues in the past. Under no medical treatments. I have been spayed, vaccinated and microchipped.  Adoption fee: my adoption fee is $850 CAD plus applicable taxes. This includes my transportation to Canada, if I am able to be accompanied by a flight volunteer directly to Vancouver.  Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems! Basic training should be taken seriously and should begin within a day or two of arrival. After your dog has settled in, check out courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you. Due to ongoing limits on Vancouver (YVR) flights, additional fees will apply if I have to fly through another city. Unaccompanied Cargo costs within Canada range from $275-$500 per dog (size depending). LALDR will be as transparent as possible with you regarding these costs. NOTE: once I find a family, I will be on the first available flight out of the Middle East seeing as I need to leave here ASAP! If a direct flight to Vancouver is not immediately available, the cost to fly me via unaccompanied cargo from Montreal/Toronto to Vancouver will not be optional. If you would like to increase the chance of me coming sooner, my rescuer may be able to secure a cargo flight from the Middle East. This cost will likely be between $1200-3800 USD, dependent on size.  Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue. Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs. Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. More information can be found on our website. [MID EAST DOGS] *Vaccinations: Dogs from the Middle East are vaccinated for rabies, parvo, distemper, leptospirosis, adenovirus type 1 and para-influenza. Bordetella is not given, as that has not been a problem in the Middle East. ##2417879##
