My story

Meet Baklava – Your Future Adventure Buddy (and Couch Companion)Looking for a dog with the spirit of an explorer and the heart of a snugglebug? Meet Baklava, a handsome husky mix with a name as sweet as his personality. This guy recently hiked over 6 miles on a Barks and Rec adventure and absolutely rocked it. The first mile? Pure husky energy—think “sled dog in training.” But after that, he settled right in and walked with a loose leash, tail wagging and all.Baklava is more than just a pretty face and four paws full of enthusiasm. He navigated dogs, horses, cyclists, and curious kids with calm curiosity and zero drama. No barking, no lunging—just a happy guy taking in the world.After the trail, he earned himself a well-deserved pup cup, and then kicked back indoors. At home, he’s learning the ropes—like maybe countertops aren’t for paws, no matter how good dinner smells. But he’s smart, eager to please, and takes redirection like a champ.Baklava is sweet with kids, friendly to strangers, and just needs a little help remembering that jumping for joy is best saved for the trampoline. If you’re looking for a loyal hiking buddy who also gives top-tier cuddles and goofy smiles, Baklava might just be your perfect match.Come meet him—you bring the leash, he’ll bring the charm.Baklava has participated in shelter playgroups and may enjoy a compatible canine friend in his new home.  Looking for a buddy for your dog?  Bring him/her to the shelter for a meet and greet and see if we`re a match!  Check out his playgroup video here:To meet me, visit the Bradshaw Animal Shelter Tuesday-Sunday, Noon - 5:00 pm, Wednesdays, Noon - 6:00 pm. All adoptions are on a first-come, first-served basis. To help expedite the meet and greet process, please make note of my Animal ID number, and those of other dogs you might be interested in meeting. Be sure to bring your ID with you, too.
