My story

Meet Kayla! She is a 8 yr old female Australian Shepherd/German Shepherd mix that weighs 48 pounds. She arrived as a stray at the Mesquite Shelter on 6/2. She walks slowly on a leash, seems OK with other dogs, and did her business in the shelter yard. She may have some sight issues and a bit of arthritis, but she moves just fine. She is well behaved, calm and is fine with being petted and loved on. She likes treats and will take them gently. I have noticed that whether in a room or outside she enjoys stretching her legs and moving about and being out of her kennel. It is always sad when a senior dog ends up in a city shelter. It should be the time of their life where they are comfortably lounging around in their home and receiving extra special love and care. That is not Kayla‘s experience, but it could be if someone with a heart for seniors would consider adopting or rescuing her. This girl has really captured my heart and I would like so much to see her settled into a situation in which she would experience unswerving commitment and tender loving care.
