My story

Sweet, Loving, Chatty Meet Rio! This gal has been an excellent mama to her kittens and is looking forward to retirement from motherhood duties and being spoiled in a home of her own! She’s a calm, friendly, and fairly affectionate girl who enjoys sleeping with her person at night but she’s not the biggest fan of head smooches. Rio loves head and ear scritches and even belly rubs! Her belly isn’t a trap! How wonderful is that? She is quite a chatty girl, though! She’ll let you know when she’s hungry, if her food is out, when she needs petting…she’ll let you know NOW! Be prepared for regular monologues and enthusiastic conversations from this gal. Rio will also sit on you and trill at you to wake you up when it’s time for breakfast! Rio is also quite the mighty huntress. She’ll chase small toys but she absolutely loves the wand toy that has a few balls attached to the string. She’ll clamp her teeth on one of the balls and strut around the house while pulling the whole wand behind her. She’s very proud when she catches her “prey”! While in foster care, she hasn’t met other cats or dogs but has been a patient and loving mother to her kittens. She was calm around her foster’s children (ages 4, 8, and 10). She wasn’t exactly playing with them but rather she was keeping an eye on how the kids interacted with her kittens. Another thing to know is that Rio may have been an indoor/outdoor cat at some point, and she’s been a bit of a door dasher. To satisfy her curiosity safely, she may really love a catio or an open window with a screen so she can see all the sights and smell all the smells to her heart’s content! All APA! cats are fully vetted, spayed or neutered, and have updated vaccines and a microchip. Lifetime support is offered by our Cat Behavior Team.
