My story

This velvety, chocolate-colored boy is just waiting for a new place to call his own after having been rescued by the staff at a local beloved bakery. While he waits, he`s practicing his walking skills with his volunteer friends. He`s doing well, but he`s also very happy to escape Missouri summer weather and take himself back to the AC to cool off. He can be convinced, however, to spend some time visiting, as long as he has a chance to show off his `leaning` skills! Some dogs just really enjoy a good lean into their people! And he will happily romp in the play-yards as long as there are lots of toys, pets and belly rubs involved!If you already have doggy family members, he`d love to have an introduction led by shelter staff to ensure that everyone is set up for a successful life together.Conley recently got to spend the day away from the shelter. Sounds like everyone had a great time! `We came to my backyard and he loved being brushed, then a pup cup, and lastly laying on the cold floor at BKS brewery. He enjoyed meeting new people, didn’t react to a dog nearby, and overall was such a good and happy boy! He loves cuddles. Adopt this guy!` Conley made such an impression on his first Dog Day Out, that this lucky boy was specifically requested again! `Our second date! He is getting so good on the leash and loves meeting any and all new people. He didn’t react to dogs barking at him, just wagged his tail. He will make anyone such a great companion! Adopt Conley!`On an adventure with a different host, Conley once again proved himself! `Conley was the BEST boy. He’s a little hesitant to jump up into the car but rides so well! He’ll sit to look around during stops but will lay down when the car moves! We got a pup cup and he DEFINITELY knows what intercom sounds like- he got so excited! We went on a walk and he’s pretty good on a leash after he warms up to you! He’s just a curious pup! He loves to play but will be your little shadow! Any time he was walking in front of me, he kept stopping to look back to make sure I was with him. He’s playful and energetic, but also will nap and snuggle with you. I gave him a bath in the bathtub and he did SO well. Just laid his head on my lap while I washed him! Wherever you go- this pup wants to go! He just needs a home to love him!
