My story

Lorena came to Abbey Cats with her brother and sister after their family's cat had an unexpected litter. At first, Lorena was frightened and very shy, unsure of her new surroundings and hesitant to trust. But with time, patience, and kindness, she’s slowly begun to open up in her foster home. She’s used to being around other cats, having grown up in a multi-cat household and now living with feline friends in her foster home. However, Lorena would truly flourish in a calmer, quieter environment where she can continue to build confidence at her own pace. Though still shy, Lorena is making beautiful progress. She now approaches her foster mom with a tiny, wailing meow that sounds like a little cry for attention — standing sweetly in front of her as if to say, “I’m ready for pets, please.” While she hasn’t yet warmed up to being held, her trust grows each day, and her sweet, sensitive personality is shining through. That said, Lorena is not shy at all when it comes to playing with her sister! Her playful side emerges when she’s with someone she trusts. If you’re a patient, loving adopter with a quiet home and a heart for shy kittens, Lorena will reward you with her quiet loyalty, playful spirit, and gentle affection as she continues to blossom. Lorena must be adopted with her sister Priscilla. She would do better in a quiet home with either no kids, cats, or dogs - or older ones who were low energy and not too rambunctious. Lorena and Priscilla need an experienced and patient owner and an environment free of small children. Please bear in mind that it is against Abbey Cat policy to adopt a single kitten under the age of six months to a home without a kitten of similar age for company.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Lorena, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
