My story

Hey there, I'm Buddy! I'm a handsome, 7-year-old medium-sized mixed breed with a beautiful brown coat and a smile that's sure to melt your heart. My previous owners, a sweet older couple, gave me a wonderful home for five years, but due to their declining health, it's time for me to find my next loving family. Could that be you? I'm a friendly guy once I get to know you! When new people come to the door, I might bark a little at first, but a quick sniff and I'm ready to be your friend. I'm great with familiar adults and children, and I'm eager to make new connections. I'm a big fan of car rides and I'm told I have a pretty goofy way of playing – I might even hop around a bit if you engage me! I'm hoping to find a calm and loving home, ideally with an older couple or anyone who can provide me with the affection and gentle care I deserve. I'm already potty-trained and walk well on a leash, so I'm ready to settle right in. I love being inside the house, chilling out, and enjoying some good walks. I've been told I might be a mix of Corgi and a larger breed, which explains my unique stature and adorable look. While I'm generally a happy-go-lucky guy, I do have a couple of things that make me a little nervous. Loud storms aren't my favorite, and I tend to get scared. Also, I seem to have an aversion to newspapers – perhaps a past experience before I was rescued. I haven't been around cats or other small mammals, and when I was adopted my owners were told I don't always love other dogs, but they have never personally witnessed this to confirm if this is true about me. The rescue who is helping me find a new home will work to confirm this and work with my potential new family to find out if this is true or if it was just one instance that made it seem like I don't enjoy dog friends but I actually do. They will help me meet any potential future dog siblings, too! They do this with every dog. I'm neutered, up-to-date on all my vaccinations, and current on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention, so I'm all ready for my new adventure! My ideal day involves some good quality time with my humans, perhaps a little playtime where I can show off my goofy hops, and definitely some nice, leisurely walks. I'm a loyal companion who just wants to be loved and cared for. If you're looking for a sweet, slightly goofy, and incredibly loving companion, I might just be the Buddy you've been waiting for! I'm ready to bring joy and a whole lot of smiles into your home.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Buddy, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
