Name: Butterball Best Guess for Breed: Lab and terrier mix Best Guess for Age: 8 months as of May 2025 SEX: Female Approximate Weight: 39 lbs as of 5/4/25; she is still growing! Gets Along With: Other dogs! Butterball has lived with cats; if you have cats in your home, we are happy to discuss strategies to introduce a new pup to your pack! We haven't seen her with kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters! Currently Living at: DC area foster home Butterball is Looking For: Her forever family! She's got all that awesome young-dog energy and is eager to have her own humans for long sniffy walks, romps in the park, and world exploration. She'd love to make pup pals along the way, too. Quality kibble, cushy dog beds, peanut butter-filled Kongs - yes, please! But you know what she wants most of all? To know where she belongs, to know she's safe and loved for all her days. She promises adoring gazes and loyal companionship in return - and to always make you smile. What do you say? Is Butterball the one you see by your side? What My Foster Says About Me: She plays quietly with her toys and entertains herself with them. Her favorite toys are chew bones and tug toys. She does enjoy short games of fetch. Butterball is most energetic when giving her love. Butterball will visit her crate often during the day, bringing toys into it frequently and does not mind sharing her crate with the cats that sleep on top of it with their tails hanging through. Butterball walks well on the leash with some pulling however when she feels tension on the leash, she usually returns to side. Butterball is a confident pup who has never met a stranger and loves to share her love. She has met kids at events and has done well with them although due to her young age she can come on a bit strong at times. Butterball lives with two cats and is curious about them and will follow them around as if she is the little sister following the big brothers around wanting to know everything they are doing. Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken. All of our dogs are working on their crate training.
