My story

Hi, I’m Nikon! I may have been found on the streets of Richardson, but I’ve got quite the pedigree behind me! I’m a gray tabby—one of the most popular and beloved colors among American Shorthairs. Did you know this all-American breed can be traced all the way back to the Mayflower? We’re the descendants of the hardworking cats that came to the New World with European settlers. Pretty cool, right? These days, I’m more into chin scratches and cozy spots than chasing mice on ships. I’m super friendly and love attention, though I can be a little shy in new places. Once I feel safe, I warm up quickly and become a very affectionate companion. If you’re looking for a sweet, people-loving kitty with a little American history in his paws, I’d love to be your new best friend!
