My story

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Moxie!  She has a wonderful temperament because she is sweet, kind, and calm with people, cats, and dogs, as well as loving a good romp session of rough and tumble play with her canine foster siblings. She can sleep all day inside or she can play all day outside! Born around November 22, 2024, Moxie already weighed a healthy 50 pounds at 6 months old, so she could reach 90+ pounds when fully grown by the age of 2. She is beautiful with her thick white wavy coat, big fluffy tail, and soulful dark brown eyes.  When she looks at you, it feels like she is looking right into your soul! Sweet Moxie is often referred to as the kindest dog, because she truly is.  She meets new people with caution, very slowly, always sitting politely with her head down.  She warms up once the person shows affection with her.  Then she relaxes into her soft, sweet, calm demeanor. She absolutely loves to be near her people.  In fact, the closer, the better.  She is an absolute love.  She is a gentle girl and will simply come over and lay her head on your lap.  She will even do this with new people, although she comes to them cautiously.  If a new person goes to her, she will stop whatever she is doing and immediately sit, with her head down, waiting in anticipation of what is going to happen. She has been equally sweet with babies.  She will sniff them, then lay on the floor next to them.  She is good with bigger kids too. Moxie would also be a good fit for a senior person because she is so gentle and not too playful with humans.  She would sleep at your feet all day, if she could! Still in her puppy stage for at least another year, she also loves to play!  She loves toys, especially chew toys.  She will chew on bones or toys for hours.  Do not give her anything fluffy though because she will work on it until it is completely shredded! She is very playful with dogs also.  She loves nothing more than to play the chase game and wrestle with the German Shepherds and Great Pyrenees in her foster home.  She will romp and run with them at any chance she can get!  We require that she have another large, playful doggy companion in her forever home. She is always wanting to go outside to run and play with her foster siblings, so she needs a backyard in her home too. Baby Moxie is fully house trained.  She walks nicely yet hesitantly on leash. She loves her crate!  She has learned the command “Crate Crate” and runs right in.  Because she has 3 foster siblings, she has learned to go right into her crate at treat time.  She likes going into it at her leisure for quick puppy naps. Moxie only barks when her foster brothers and sister bark at people coming into the house.  Otherwise, she is mostly quiet. Horribly, Moxie was thrown from a car, and that is how she came to be rescued.  So now she is not a fan of the car or going anywhere near it.  We use a lot of coaxing to get her into one.  Once she is in, she is very nervous and quiet. When Moxie first came into foster care, she was terrified of people.  Anytime we went near her, she would just freeze in fear.  Her foster family worked wonders with their love and devotion to her.  It took a while to earn her love and trust, but it was so worth it.  Over the course of the next few months, she learned how to walk on leash, how to have fun with her foster siblings, how to use the dog door, and respond to commands.  When it is time to eat, she calmly sits and waits for her bowl. Moxie has come such a long way and with the perfect family, she will just continue to blossom. OUR REQUIREMENTS FOR PUPPY ADOPTION:     1) PUPPIES WILL ONLY BE PLACED IN HOMES WITH YOUTHFUL, PLAYFUL, DOGS. This helps integrate the dog into your household easier by giving the pup a mentor.      2) In addition to the youthful playful dog, someone MUST also be home at least part of the day.  Please do not apply for a puppy if you are gone 8-10 hours a day. It is not a good situation for you or the puppy.      3) You must have plans in place to socialize your puppy properly.      4) Our puppies are not livestock dogs.  They must be family pets that are allowed inside the home. Please watch this short video which demonstrates how puppies learn polite behavior from their adult dog mentors.  https://youtu.be/R6N8STRl2aI0 SPIN Pyrs are all in foster homes in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.  Adoption fees are $300 for dogs under 1 year old, $250 for dogs 1-7 years old, $200 for dogs over 7 years old. Potential adopters are asked to make travel arrangements if they live elsewhere. All SPIN dogs are spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations and on heartworm prevention.
