My story

Life might be like a box of chocolates, but with Forrest, you’ll always know what you’re gonna get: a big-hearted, energetic, fun-loving dog who’s ready for anything. Forrest Gump is a bright, happy, and endlessly enthusiastic young dog looking for his forever home. At just a year old, this Shepherd x Black Mouth Cur mix has already had quite the journey. He was first surrendered to a different shelter as a young pup and spent a good stretch of time in a loving foster home where he learned important basics like house training and how to live indoors. He was eventually adopted, but sadly found himself in our shelter when his new family realized that his high energy level was more than they were prepared for. Forrest is the kind of dog who wakes up ready to take on the world. He’s incredibly friendly and outgoing—he loves people, enjoys being around kids, and gets along well with other dogs. His tail is always wagging, and his goofy, affectionate personality makes him a joy to be around. He thrives on interaction, both physical and mental, and would love a family who can keep up with his active lifestyle. While Forrest has some great foundational skills and is house trained, he’s still very much a young dog with lots of energy to burn. He’ll need daily exercise and stimulation, whether that’s long walks, playtime in the yard, hikes, or learning new tricks. He’d do best in a home that’s ready to embrace his enthusiasm and give him the structure and outlets he needs to shine. Forrest is a sweet, loving companion who truly wants to be part of the action.
