My story

Meet Reevah UPDATE 5-3-2025 Reevah has come so far in her time with us. She didn’t handle the loud shelter well, she came into heat while there and then after being spayed made the trip from LA to VA. She has settled and adjusted into a super good dog. Working hard on her social skills with other dogs she no longer feels threatened by them and can easily handle car rides and walks with many other dogs. She is absolutely fabulous in an urban environment, load noises and busy streets don’t phase her at all. She is learning to be less reactive when cars pull up and when new people approach. This girl is more than ready for a new home, her adopter will need to be willing to continue working with her to develop a partnership but this girl has so much to give in return. Reevah is a 4-5 yr old 55 lbs German Shepherd mix. She has so many of the incredible GSD traits, we can see her being an incredible partner and could even do service dog work with training. She is very intelligent and her focus on her handler is excellent. She will continue to improve as she gets settled into a permanent home with a consistent partner. She is calm and brave in new places, she isn’t scared of vehicles or equipment and is well behaved in stores and other businesses. She tested fine with a cat and she handles leashed dogs near her fine but she doesn’t like to be loose with other dogs. She will not be able to visit dog parks and we will want her to be an only dog in home unless adopter willing to do crate and rotate procedures.
