My story

Meet Tanner! This 3-month-old cutie is equal parts sweet, silly, and snack-obsessed. Whether he’s exploring, cuddling, or showing off his goofy side, Tanner is always ready to make you smile (just keep an eye on your houseplants—he’s more into soil than socks!). Tanner’s had a bit of a rough start, but you’d never know it by how far he’s come. He’s settling into home life beautifully—snoozing like a pro in his crate from day one, walking confidently on leash, and doing really well with potty training as long as he’s on a consistent routine (every 2–3 hours is his sweet spot). He’s also learning that not everything is a snack—though the occasional leaf or potted plant still tempts him. This clever little foodie is eager to please and learns quickly, but food can also be a sensitive area for him. Tanner has shown food aggression with other dogs and should always be fed separately in a controlled space. While he’s comfortable with people around his food and toys, we recommend caution in homes with young children who may not understand the importance of boundaries around food. Playtime is Tanner’s favorite part of the day. He’s a blast with toys, thrives on human attention, and lights up when playing with other dogs. He plays hard and rough in a fun, bouncy way, and being around confident, playful pups really helps bring out his best side—so a doggy friend or regular playdates would be ideal. Tanner is looking for a home that’s ready for the joys and challenges of puppyhood: the cuddles, the chaos, the belly rubs, and the big (and little) victories. If you’ve got patience, structure, and a whole lot of love—Tanner might just be your perfect match. Adoption Day: June 7th at PetSmart Tysons Corner from 10:00–11:00 AM — an approved adopter must be present to adopt.
