My story

Meet Bentley – Your Next High-Energy Best Friend Age: 4 years Breed: Pit Bull TerrierFound as a stray – now waiting for a forever home!Bentley is a big-hearted goofball who lives life in full throttle! This 4-year-old Pit Bull was brought in as a stray, but during a short stay with a finder, he was reported to do well around kids—no complaints at all! Bentley’s motto? “Play first, ask questions later!”He’s got a big personality and an even bigger playstyle—think full-body slams, lots of bounce, and vertical leaps. He loves other dogs, but his energy can be overwhelming. He does not read social cues well and has little sense of danger, continuing to try and engage even when another dog is clearly saying “no thanks.”Despite his high-octane energy, Bentley is a sensitive softie. After being corrected during a play session with another dog, he immediately backed off, pouted, and laid down. He doesn’t show aggression, but he’ll need a dog-savvy adopter or a very tolerant and playful canine sibling who can handle his rough-and-tumble style. Dog Sociability:Wants to engage with every dog, even if they’re reactiveWould likely do best as the only pet or with a playful, submissive dogNot aggressive, just socially unaware and easily overstimulated Home Life:Potty trainedNeeds leash work (he’s strong!)Will thrive with consistent structure and plenty of outdoor time to burn energyNot food or toy possessive; allows handling without issue Assessment Highlights:-Cage presentation: Soft body, wagging tail – Grade A- Sociability: Initially disinterested, but warms up with soft body and tail wag-Toy Test: No guarding, allowed toys to be taken- No signs of reactivity toward people or dogs – just too much love all at once Bentley is on the hunt for an adventure pal! Whether it’s hiking trails, backyard zoomies, or road trips with the windows down, he’s ready to be your energetic sidekick. Give him the structure he needs, and he’ll give you his whole goofy heart.?? St. Charles County Humane Services | #AdoptBentley#PitBullLove #GoofyBoyEnergy #AdventurePal #RescueDogReady #PlayfulPup
