My story

Kirby’s journey started when he was just a tiny pup, found alone under a porch. He came to us needing medical care right away, and since then he’s grown up in our shelter surrounded by people who love him dearly. From x-rays and radiographs to visits with an orthopedic specialist, he has been through it all with his signature bounce and goofy grin. No matter what the vets were looking at, Kirby never let it get him down, he’s always been more interested in playing and making friends.Kirby does have some looseness in his knees that could point to mild ligament issues, but here’s the thing: he doesn’t let it slow him down one bit. He runs, he plays, he wrestles, and he wiggles with happiness. For a little guy like him, long-term joint supplements and the occasional medication are all he really needs. Surgery is an option down the road, but right now, Kirby is comfortable and full of life.In his foster home, Kirby proved just how adaptable and joyful he is, he lived with two big dogs, three kids, and a busy two-story house, and he loved every minute of it. He’s playful, silly, and has this hilarious “playful biter” Kirby has been a staff favorite from day one because he’s not just resilient, he’s a goofball with a huge heart. After growing up here, what he deserves most is a forever home of his own, with people who will laugh at his antics, love him through his quirks, and give him the happy ending he’s been waiting for.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Kirby, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
