My story

Animal Profile: Louie is an estimated 6-year-old, 65 lb neutered male Great Pyrenees Australian Cattle Dog mix who hails originally from Texas. Louie is a stunning boy with a coat that is just as soft as it looks, and the most adorable ears! He is a veritable porch dog who enjoys the company of his family and lounging around wherever his people are. Louie is house-trained, crate-trained, knows commands and has no separation anxiety. True to his breeds, he is loyal and loving with his family but discerning of new people and animals. Louie gets along with other dogs off leash but is prone to leash reactivity if allowed, on walks. Louie's family has worked with a professional trainer to help Louie be his best self and now Louie listens well to commands and walks nicely on a leash. Louie lives with a cat for the last 4 years and they coexist peacefully but he does have some chase instinct on walks toward small animals so a dog-savvy cat and slow introductions to new cats in the home would be needed. Louie enjoys companionship, belly rubs and short walks -- his energy level is more Pyr than Cattle Dog and he will do OK with low to moderate exercise. Louie will do best with an owner who has strong leadership skills and an understanding of his breed mix to set him up for success.   Adopter Profile:  Single family residence required Fenced yard required Older dog savvy children considered Other balanced dogs / dog-savvy cats OK &#226&#128&#139Adoption Info: The adoption fee is $400, which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, flea/tick treatment, deworming, and microchip with lifetime registration. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. Apply Online: www.doggoneseattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: Louie was transferred from TX to WA via Paco's Rescue in 2021 and adopted but unfortunately were not able to take him back when his adopters were relocating to Europe. Louie is currently with his original adopters looking for a new home before September 2025. Please email jenny@doggoneseattle.org with questions. June 5, 2025, 1:11 pm

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Louie, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
