M'BAKU

My story

M’Baku is a gorgeous guy with a small army of volunteer advocates who have worked with him since he entered the shelter. This gentle giant has come so far! The more we get to know him, the more we see that he’s a gentle, loving, silly, sweet and sensitive guy who will thrive in the right home. At three years old he is the perfect age, having left those crazy puppy years behind him, and still having years ahead to love and join his new family in lots of cuddle time and walks. Here’s what some of M’Baku’s volunteer friends have said:“I met sweet boy M’Baku today and we headed out for a lovely walk. As we got on our way he turned around and gave me a bouncy friendly greeting a couple of times, jumping up to say “Hello!” It seemed like he almost had the zoomies but since he was on leash, he just bounded around a little bit- it was super cute! We walked down near the pond, where he dipped his feet in. He absolutely LOVED the water and I think that if I had let go of the leash, he would have swam across the pond! He was very curious about the critters that we passed by, but he settled for watching from a distance. Once we returned to his kennel it was very easy to unleash him and we enjoyed a couple of minutes of snuggling, with me scratching his big sweet head and chin. He`s a very nice boy!”“I worked with M’Baku this week. After leashing he got up and stood enthusiastically in front of the door and he happily went out and led the way. He walked at a good pace, very interested in the environment. Because he was doing so well, I decided to take him around the big lake. We walked by fishermen, and he was calm and curious. He rolled around near the shore, having a good time. He accepted lots of petting and encouragement on the walk and took some treats gently from my hand. He is sweet and gentle by nature, and I think he will be a wonderful companion.”M’Baku is a sensitive sweetie who would love to meet any resident dogs before heading home to ensure compatibility. Our volunteers have seen patience and time work wonders with M’Baku, allowing him to show us the truly wonderful dog that he is.
