What a delight this boy is! We are so excited to introduce you to Fletcher. Fletcher came to us with a few other kitties when their previous owner could no longer care for them. Despite their transition into the rescue, all kitties including Fletcher are happy, healthy, and have been loved! Fletcher was the only one that came into the rescue with matting in his coat, so we had to shave his luxurious and long orange coat to relieve him from the painful matts. No worry though, his coat is coming back in just fine and he will be a fluffy boy once more! Fletcher is an absolute sweetheart. He is shy during first interactions, but he quickly warms up once he realizes he is with safe and loving people. He has a deep purr and loves to be pet and cuddled. Aside from having his buddy Orion with him, he would love to follow his humans around and snuggle with them. If you are looking for an affectionate and fluffy kitty, Fletcher is your guy! Fletcher has received some interest and has had some foster-to-adopt opportunities where we were able to see that he does best when he gets to stay with his Foster Brother, Orion. For that reason, we are trying to have them go home together as a pair. Since the two are a bonded pair, only one adoption has to be paid. Fletcher is 4 years old, neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated. He has tested NEGATIVE for FeLV, FIV, and heartworms. Fletcher and Orion are eligible for foster-to-adopt Trials. While not required, if interested, here is an overview of the process: 1. Fletcher's awesome, super cool future family submits an application for him. 2. The equally as cool and awesome Adoption Team here at NLCR will review the application, and reached out once approved. 3. Arrange a meet-and-greet with Fletcher and his existing Foster Parents. This will allow you to see Fletcher in the environment he is used to, knowing he will be shy during this interaction. This will also give you an opportunity to meet his Foster Parents (they are awesome, too). 4. Arrange foster-to-adopt trial. This can begin the day of the 1st meet and greet or on a later date. 5. Foster-to-Adopt trial begins. The rescue will provide food and litter Fletcher is accustomed to. The rescue, with Fletcher's current fosters, will stay in communication with the adopter to receive updates and provide any needed support. 6. Foster-to-Adopt trial ends. This is either due to finalizing of adoption paperwork or Fletcher returning to his existing fosters if this is not a good fit. If you have any questions or would like to adopt Fletcher, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
