My story

Meet Mary! She is the sweetest little flower, waiting for the right garden to bloom in. Mary is a soft in spirit, light in step, and pure sweetness of a dog. She doesn’t ask for much, just love, patience, and a peaceful space where she can grow at her own pace. She’s just the right amount of independent and affectionate! We believe Mary is a chihuahua mix that is around 2 years old. She is the most petite precious thing weighing only about 15 pounds. She is perfect for being puppy sized forever! Due to her being a rescue, age and breed cannot be guaranteed. But there is no doubt that she is the loveliest little lady. Watch Mary Marigold in her gentle form below. https://youtu.be/S64ibj19NKA Mary lives harmoniously with five dogs of various sizes(18-82lbs) and breeds( from chihuahua mixes to pointer mixes) in her foster home, and it’s clear she feels most herself when surrounded by a kind and steady pack. The normal routine involves sharing space with her foster siblings who are all up in age, lounging the day away. But there are points when Mary is in ultimate comfort zone and little blips of fun energy begin to make an appearance! You will see in her video instances where she couldn’t help but join in on the fun! She’s the type of companion who will quietly tuck herself into the rhythm of a home at a steady pace, never demanding the spotlight, but always grateful to be part of something warm. She would do well in a home that already has kind and supportive dogs that are ready to welcome her into their pack with love and patience. Mary doesn’t live with cats, but when she met our housecat Biggie, she was absolutely neutral with him. True to her personality of peacekeeper, she let him sniff and inspect her without any sort of resistance. She would do well in a house with a dog savvy cat that would just let her live her life without any conflict. Around kids, Mary is also very quiet and sweet. When she met Cash, our 7 year old, she just sat there and allowed him to gently pet her. Mary would be best in a peaceful home with gentle older children who can understand her tender spirit and move with care. She thrives where kindness is a daily language. If the kiddos like to play with forts, she may even burrow herself in there LOL. Her foster can’t stop raving about how well mannered she is! She is crate trained, going into her kennel with ease, and can stay in there for long periods of time just fine if you have to go out. But she is also so mild-mannered that if you work from home, her companionship will not interfere with getting your tasks done! She’s most comfortable being carried rather than walked. So she would thrive best in a home with a small yard where she can wander and explore at her own pace over an apartment. If your home is your sanctuary, Mary will fit right in. She is still learning about all of the luxuries of life with loving humans, and she’s loving it all so far. Her foster has stated that as Mary is learning to trust and bloom, that there are times that Mary will come to her and jump up on her legs and be the sweetest thing! Her love language is particular but watching Mary thrive and grow is one of the most rewarding things you will ever experience!
