My story

ABOUT BENTLEY Bentley is a 3-year-old perfect gentleman who loves everyone he meets! He came to HAP when his previous owner could no longer care for him. Bentley is a cuddly boy who always wants to be by your side, he’s the true definition of a Velcro dog! He’s both house-trained and crate-trained, and he absolutely loves his treats, special chew bones, and tire toy. Bentley is just as happy going on a hike as he is lounging on the couch. Bentley has met other pups at the shelter and he can be a little nervous. He would likely prefer a calmer pup, who can give him some space as they get to know each other! Bentley has participated in our Doggy Day Out program, check out what our volunteers had to say about him: "Got to take the handsomest Bentley out today! He is so wonderful! Absolutely sweetheart and a perfect gentleman. He was calm and walked perfectly on the leash the whole time. Other people, cyclists, and dogs didn't bother him at all. We went for a walk around the reservoir and nearby trails and then laid in the shade by the car. Bentley is an amazing dog!" - Anna "My friends and I got to take out Bentley!! He was very excited to see us and gave lots of kisses! He was a little antsy in the car leaving the shelter. We chilled at my house for a few minutes, then went for a walk on the green at UD, stopping by Starbucks for a pup cup! He was pulling on the leash a little bit at first, because he was so excited, but he calmed down after a few minutes. He was a super good boy on our walk and did not react to other people or the one other dog that walked nearby. We definitely tuckered him out because he stopped to lay down mid-walk LOL. He didn’t bark once! He was such a joy to have and would make such a lovable pet!!" - Paige "Bentley was such a good boy! We took a walk at a local park, and since the weather was so good and I noticed his energy dying down, I laid under a tree for a while, and Bentley joined me. I think he's not aware of his size as he was lying on top of me as if he was a cat! Overall super well-behaved, especially around children and other dogs. While he was super energetic to get out of the car (almost jumping out before I could unbuckle him!), I think he's such a wonderful dog for someone who wants a high energy, but super cuddly dog" - Kimberly If you are interested in adopting this dog, please submit an adoption questionnaire! Our adoption process is on a first-come, best-match basis and we are not able to hold animals. If you are interested in this specific dog but it ends up not being the best fit upon meeting, our adoption counselors will work with you to help find a match! All household members, including children and other dogs, must come along for the meeting to make sure it's a good fit. If a match is made, we encourage same-day adoptions! Our adoption fees include the animals' spay/neuter, microchip, age-appropriate vaccinations and preventatives, fecal testing, heartworm testing, and a small bag of food to get you started.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Bentley, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
