My story

Meet Rice Krispie — A Shy Sweetheart Ready to BloomRice Krispie came to us as a stray, and while we don’t know anything about her past, we can already tell she’s got a spark of resilience and a playful heart. Life at the shelter has been overwhelming for her—she’s shown signs of anxiety and stress, including pacing and barking in her kennel—but with time, patience, and a gentle approach, she starts to let her personality shine. Initially skittish and hesitant around new people, Rice Krispie does best with slow introductions. With the staff she’s come to know, she’s allowed and even asked for affection—tail wags and gentle nudges included. With others, she may take longer to warm up but has shown she’s capable of forming trusting bonds when given the chance. She’s a bit of a wild card on leash—darting between curiosity and caution—but with consistency and positive reinforcement, we think she’ll flourish. New environments can be a bit scary for her, so a calm home where she can decompress and settle in at her own pace would be ideal. Rice Krispie LOVES toys! She lights up during playtime—she’ll chase after toys (though she’s still working on the whole `bring it back` part). She’s respectful with her toys and lets you take them without any issue. While she eats eagerly, she prefers to be left alone when food is involved. She has shown some signs of guarding, so it`s best to give her space during meals or when she`s enjoying a high-value treat.Dog Socialization: Rice Krispie met another pup here, Luna Prim, and interacted with a soft, loose body and appropriate doggy manners. She wasn`t overly interested in engaging but tolerated the other dog`s attention well—even zoomied around the yard once she felt more comfortable! A meet-and-greet is required if you have a dog at home, so we can help ensure a good match. Rice Krispie is looking for a calm, patient family that will give her the time and space she needs to adjust and thrive. She may not be the dog who runs up to greet you right away, but if you give her your heart, she’ll quietly, steadily give you hers in return. We ask that all family members come in to meet her before adoption, to ensure she feels comfortable with everyone. With the right environment and plenty of love, Rice Krispie is sure to become someone’s most loyal companion. Are you the gentle soul she’s been waiting for? Come meet her today! This pet is eligible for an Adoption Audition! What is an Adoption Audition? It’s a 5-

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Rice Krispie, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
