Meet Pansy! This darling little girl is as sweet as they come. Pansy thrives on human companionship and adores being near her people as much as possible. If you’re looking for a cuddly companion who will be your shadow and your snuggle buddy, she’s your girl! Pansy lives with two children (ages 8 and 11) and absolutely lights up when they wake up or return home. She loves playing with them and often curls up for a nap right on their laps. She’s also doing great in a home with a cat and is curious but respectful—no chasing or fuss. Her favorite place to sleep is right next to her humans, and while she’s working on crate training, she currently sleeps for about five hours at night in her crate. Potty training is a work in progress, and now that her foster family has realized she may have limited hearing, they’re shifting training tactics to use kibble rewards rather than verbal cues—something she’s responding to really well thanks to her love of food. Pansy enjoys car rides and isn’t fazed by loud noises, the vacuum, or hustle and bustle. Her hearing loss may actually be helping her remain calm and confident in environments that might otherwise be overwhelming. She does experience some anxiety when left alone, so she would do best in a home where someone is around most of the day. She’s a little scent detective and loves to follow scent trails around the yard or sniff out kibble hidden in her snuffle ball. With her sweet nature and love for people, she’ll make a wonderful addition to a family ready to be patient with her training and give her the companionship she craves. ----- Thank you for your interest in adopting a dog from Little Dog Rescue. Our dogs come from a variety of sources and backgrounds. They are all in need of adopters that have patience, an understanding of where these dogs have come from, and that there will be an adjustment time when they transition into their forever home. This can include learning basic commands, walking on leash and potty training. Some dogs will pick up on your routine and expectations faster than others. Potty accidents will happen. We find that positive reinforcement, consistency, and routine from the adopter achieves the best results. We are a small, all volunteers team and give 100% of our efforts towards doing right by these pups. We are often juggling many responsibilities at the same time and do our very best to process inquiries and applications in a timely manner. We do prioritize inquiries that have a submitted application on file through the Little Dog Rescue website. We do our best to accurately assign breed designations, however we are unable to guarantee 100% accuracy. Sometimes we only have the dogs appearance to go on. Our adoption fees are thoughtfully considered. The adoption fee is not a purchase price for the dog. It is a fee that is designed to support the overall work of our rescue. Highly desirable dogs and puppies are intentionally listed with a higher adoption fee. This is done to help offset the enormous medical expenses we incur when taking in older pups and special needs medical dogs whose adoption fees do not come close to covering their expenses. In addition, the vast majority of our dogs are brought in from out of state and incur transport fees along with their medical and acquisition costs. We ask that you take all of these things into consideration, and we look forward to finding a great match for your family.
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Pansy , please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
