My story

How this pet arrived: Lucy was brought in by our Humane Law Enforcement team on 4/5/2025. Why this pet is the one for you:When Lucy first came into our care, she exhibited fearful behavior and sensitivity to handling and restraint. She was unsure of her surroundings and hesitant to engage. Over time, with patience and consistent positive interactions, Lucy has made great strides. She has formed trusting relationships with staff, enjoys gentle petting, and now regularly displays friendly and social behavior. While she has come a long way, Lucy will thrive in a home that continues to respect her boundaries, moves at her pace, and understands her need for a calm and supportive environment. With the right family, Lucy has the potential to continue blossoming into a confident and affectionate companion. At SDHS:Lucy has been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed.
