My story

Pixie is a 4-year-old Lab mix who arrived at the Medfield Shelter on 5/26. Her owner was hospitalized for a long time and realized he could no longer care for her. She weighs 51 lbs and is an active dog who loves walks and Milkbones. She is great in the car and was pretty cooperative for her much-needed bath. She is very friendly around the small dog, also in our care. She is quiet in her kennel and seems to enjoy the comfy bed we gave her. She has received all of her veterinary care and is now ready for adoption. If you are interested in adopting a dog, please fill out our dog adoption application here: http://medfieldshelter.com/adopt. Our adoption fee for dogs ages 7 months to 7 years is $450. Dogs 8 years and up are $250. Every dog we place is vaccinated, wormed, treated for ticks/fleas, and spayed/neutered prior to adoption. We send each dog home with a collar and leash. With very few exceptions, dogs are happiest and the most well-behaved when they receive daily exercise and ongoing training, so we always prefer to place our dogs with families who are willing to make a commitment to both. All adoption meetings are by appointment only as we only have two employees. Our manager or one of our volunteers will be happy to set up an appointment for you to come meet the pets, but please fill out the adoption application first.
