HIGHLIGHT:- May require another confident dog in the home to help build his confidence.Meet Bentley – A Gentle Yorkie Looking for His Safe PlaceBentley is a 5-year-old Yorkshire Terrier who weighs 12 pounds and is searching for a calm, patient home where he can continue to come out of his shell. He’s a shy little guy who hasn’t quite figured out yet that people can be kind—but he’s getting there, one gentle moment at a time.Bentley is very sweet and does best around other dogs, especially those who are confident and friendly. A dog friend in the home could help show him the ropes and give him the encouragement he needs to feel safe. With people, he’s cautious, but he watches curiously and is slowly learning to accept gentle affection.He would thrive in a quiet, nurturing home where he can go at his own pace and continue to build trust. Bentley may take a little time, but once he feels safe, you’ll start to see the sweet, loyal companion he’s meant to be.*********Before being rescued, many of our dogs had limited socialization, so they may need some time to adjust to life as a family pet. Older kids are often a great fit for our dogs, and homes with younger children will be considered based on each dog’s individual needs. Skills like house training and leash walking may take a little extra patience and practice. However, with time and a gentle approach, most of these dogs adapt quickly.
