My story

TAFFY — Your Daily Dose of Joy in Chocolate Form! Looking for a dog who’s equal parts adventure buddy, cuddle bug, and class clown? Say hello to Taffy—a six-month-old Chocolate Retriever mix with a personality that’s bigger than her rapidly growing paws! Currently weighing 45 pounds and expected to hit around 70 when full grown, Taffy is the ultimate fun-sized package of Retriever energy, loyalty, and good vibes. She’s the kind of dog who’s always up for something—whether it’s chasing a ball, splashing in a creek, or following the kids around like their own personal sidekick. Taffy was found as a stray in rural Tennessee, where the shelters are always full. Lucky for her, she was scooped up by an amazing foster mom named Gretchen, who’s been showing her the ropes—and Taffy is catching on fast! She’s housebroken, crate-trained, and already knows her name (though her brain sometimes takes detours when butterflies or squirrels are nearby). Leash walking? Still a work in progress, but she’s trying! This girl is a bit of a wild child with a golden heart—not a dainty little thing, but a strong, bouncy, goofy, lovable pup who just wants to be part of the action. She thrives on attention, loves people of all ages, and is especially gentle and joyful around kids. She’d be an incredible addition to any active household—whether you’re into hiking, jogging, playing fetch ‘til sunset, or just enjoying a good old-fashioned backyard BBQ. Taffy is spayed, vetted, and healthy, and her dream home has a fenced yard, people who have time to spend with her, and a willingness to continue shaping her into the amazing dog she’s already becoming. She’s full of potential and would totally rock at agility or obedience work—anything that gets her brain and body moving. Ready to make every day a little more fun? Taffy’s waiting! Reach out to Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com and let us know where you live (city and state). Taffy is fostered in Tennessee, but don’t worry—we transport weekly to the northeastern U.S. Let this happy-go-lucky chocolate girl fill your life with laughter, loyalty, and muddy paw prints. PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comJuly 24, 2025, 8:15 pm

If you have any questions or would like to adopt PUPPY TAFFY, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
