Ray von Meisburg is a handsome, 12 month-old classic German Shepherd. The minute we met Ray, we all fell in love. We got him via the West L.A. Animal Shelter, the owner had to give him and his brother Max up because of the landlord. Both were obviously loved dogs and had received good care. Ray also already knows his commands including Sit and Down, walks like a dream, and wants to greet every dog walking by. He also is great meeting new people, and has been known to just curl up in your lap. He still thinks he is a puppy, but losing his home hasn’t daunted his cheerful spirit! He loves his brother Max, but is just as friendly and playful with other dogs. In playgroups he is easygoing and comfortable, greeting other dogs politely and playing with a gentle style that makes him a joy to be around. He's done fine around small dogs too, but says no to kitties. If you are looking for a loving and versatile boy, Ray might be your guy! He could also be an optional pair with his brother Max. Rescued from the West LA animal shelter. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN Ray von Meisburg YOU MUST FILL OUT AN ADOPTION APPLICATION ON OUR WEBSITE: www.sheprescue.org Application link: http://www.sheprescue.org/Application_to_Adopt_a_Dog%20Main.html Based on our experience, Westside's current thinking is to usually match first-time shepherd owners with a mix versus a purebred shepherd. Mixes are "softer" and somewhat more malleable. Exceptions can be made, however, for first-time adopters who show the confidence and leadership tendencies that purebreds will respect and respond to. Counselors have to use good judgment in assessing the attributes of the adopter, as well as of the dog. If you have doubts, get a second opinion from Robin or another experienced counselor.
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Ray von Meisburg, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
