Max von Meisburg

My story

Max von Meisburg is a gorgeous 12 month-old sable shepherd with a lovable, goofy personality and a heart full of affection. He’s the kind of dog who’s always ready to make you smile—whether by leaning into you for love, showering you with kisses, or happily trotting at your side on walks. Max walks well on leash and enjoys heading out for adventures. He’s social and friendly, always eager to greet both people and other dogs. He walks in a nice heel position and enjoys exploring alongside a companion. Max came to us with his brother Ray, and they would be great together for someone interested in a pair. Max also does beautifully in playgroups with other pups. He heads into the yard ready to have fun and often looks for a playmate, so he would enjoy another playful dog in his new home. He's also done well around small dogs, but not cats. Playful and people-oriented, Max enjoys being around others. Mixes are "softer" and somewhat more malleable. Exceptions can be made, however, for first-time adopters who show the confidence and leadership tendencies that purebreds will respect and respond to. Counselors have to use good judgment in assessing the attributes of the adopter, as well as of the dog. If you have doubts, get a second opinion from Robin or another experienced counselor.
