After 322 long days as part of a large cruelty case, Yertle is finally free — and now he’s ready to find the quiet, loving home he’s always deserved. 💛 Yertle is a thoughtful, gentle German Shepherd who has spent the past several months decompressing and healing in a foster home. He’s a certified couch potato who prefers soft beds, peaceful company, and predictable routines over hustle and bustle. His favorite way to start the day? Climbing the stairs for a morning face-lick wake-up call. While he can be shy with new people, he's incredibly loyal once he knows you, and has been a wonderful work-from-home companion. He enjoys sniffing around the yard, relaxing at your side, and simply being near someone he trusts. Yertle is looking for a calm, confident canine sister in his new home to help show him the ropes and continue building his confidence as a beloved pet. He’s done well with the female dog in his foster home and thrives with gentle companionship. While Yertle doesn’t currently enjoy leash walks or car rides — and may always prefer to stay at home — he is fully housetrained, has great indoor manners, and doesn’t need a crate. He’s happiest with a fenced-in yard and a peaceful home where he can feel safe and loved. Yertle may not be the dog for every family, but for someone with a soft spot for the shy and sensitive, he’s an incredibly special soul — and everyone who meets him falls in love. Come meet the boy who reminds us that healing takes time, and love makes all the difference. 🐾
