She lived in the same abandoned home as Walter, but her role was crueler—she was used as a breeder dog, neglected in every way except when it came time to produce puppies. Her coat was unkempt, her body worn, and her spirit tired. But Maxine isn’t broken. She’s brilliant. Affectionately nicknamed Moxie, Maxine has a little fire in her—and a lot of heart. She’s affectionate, attentive, and incredibly loyal. She’s the kind of dog that stays close, not because she’s anxious, but because she chooses you. She bonds deeply and quickly, making her the ultimate sidekick. She’s a natural on leash, loves to go for walks, and responds beautifully to recall—proof that even dogs with rough beginnings can thrive when shown love. Maxine has a softness to her now, but don’t mistake that for weakness—she’s got opinions, sass, and soul. Maxine has already given far too much in her life.
