My story

Meet Saian, a 7-year-old Labrador, Alaskan Husky mix. Saian is a curious and clingy dog. He wants to see everything, smell everything, and loves having visitors. He is naturally quiet and always lies on his cushion. He understands the command "mat," which means to go on his cushion. He stays at the door on the mat when he enters the house if the floor is wet. He will usually wait until you tell him he can leave the mat before moving, but sometimes he decides on his own that he can go. He loves treats and is even willing to work for them: giving a paw, high-fiving on both sides if you get down to his level, lying down, sitting. He can even catch a biscuit put on his nose. He likes to go for a walk and can even be a little impatient. As soon as he sees his leash, he comes. He pulls a little; you can never walk fast enough for him; there is too much to discover! He doesn't usually eat table food unless he finds it on the floor before we do. Saian is a really intelligent and affectionate dog; he loves everyone and behaves really well with children. When he was younger, he lived with a cat and they even slept together; it's been several years but with the right introduction he could surely become friends with another. Saian is okay when he sees dogs from a distance and gets along perfectly with dogs when introduced properly. As soon as you meet Saian, you fall in love with him! He is looking for a wonderful family to give him the best retirement a boy can ask for. All he needs are walks and cuddles and he's a happy boy! Saian is vaccinated, microchipped, has her flea, tick & heartworm prevention and sterilized. He will come with his medical booklet. Sometimes a dog takes a little more time to open up, you may see them showing more and more of their personality over the course of the first few days, weeks or even months. We don’t know all that they’ve been through before they were rescued, but they are so forgiving and full of love and it’s worth every tough moment in the end. Developing a trusting relationship with your rescue dog is the most important thing. Stability, patience, positive reinforcement and love are the most important things.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Saian, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
