My story

Dottie is one of several lovely cats who came from a heartbreaking situation—rescued from a large group found living in a U-Haul van in Rockford. After such a difficult start, it's no surprise she can be a little cautious at first—but Dottie has shown that with a bit of patience, love, and a few head rubs, her sweet and affectionate personality shines through. In her foster home, Dottie has become known as a very talkative and curious girl. She loves to explore her surroundings, climb to the highest perch in the room, and keep tabs on everything her humans are doing. She’ll often follow you around or meow back like she’s part of the conversation—because to her, she absolutely is! Dottie enjoys a mix of independence and affection. She’s not shy about letting you know when she’s ready for attention—and when she’s ready for some solo time, too. She responds best to a home that can give her both love and space as she continues to blossom. A bit of a foodie, Dottie is easily won over with treats, so it’s best to keep anything you don’t want her sampling tucked away! Dottie is resilient, intelligent, and full of personality, and she’s now ready to leave the past behind and find a calm, loving home where she can continue to grow. All of our cats are spayed/neutered, dewormed, FELV tested, microchipped, receive prevention while in our care, and up to date on age appropriate vaccines.
