My story

Amelia’s story begins in a heartbreaking situation—she was part of a large group of cats found living in a U-Haul van in Rockford. Understandably, she can be a little cautious at first, but once she feels safe, her gentle and sweet personality shines through. Amelia is a sweetheart—playful, curious, and she loves to be petted. She particularly enjoys lounging in high spots where she can keep an eye on things! While she isn’t a lap cat, she shows her affection by following her people from room to room. Working in your home office? She’ll nap on your desk. Relaxing in the living room? She’ll snooze on the back of the couch right by your shoulder. She also enjoys conversation—chat with her while preparing a treat and she’ll happily respond! Like many cats from her background, Amelia just needs a bit of time, patience, and love to truly blossom. She’s resilient, affectionate in her own way, and so ready for a fresh start in a calm, understanding home. Could Amelia be your perfect match? All of our cats are spayed/neutered, dewormed, FELV tested, microchipped, receive prevention while in our care, and up to date on age appropriate vaccines.
