My story

Trooper is a 3 year old pitbull mix who earned his name after surviving alone in the mountains. When rescued, he was near starvation—but today he's a healthy, happy, cuddly 45-pound pup with a whole lot of love to give. He's a petite guy, perfect size for traveling, or snuggling up close on the couch.This sweet, snuggly boy is crate trained, house trained and quiet as a mouse. He is also trusted free in the house and doesnt need a crate. He loves walks, snuggling with his people, and playing with toys—especially balls, ropes, and sticks! He will play with you, or doesnt mind tossing toys up to himself if you are busy, hes so cute when playing! Trooper is chill and relaxed indoors but up for adventure when you are. He doesnt need a lot of exercise, although he is ready to go if you are. He is totally content lounging all week while you work. He walks well on leash but is strong and may pull if something excites him (like bikes or squirrels). He gets along with dogs of all sizes, does okay with confident cats and ignores chickens and farm animals. He is great with people—though older kids are best due to his strength. He can live with other animals, but would do just fine as your one and only getting all the snuggles and cuddles to himself! Trooper is currently on medication for mild seizures, which are well managed, and he may eventually wean off them as he continues to regain his health. He’s affectionate, easy-going, and incredibly resilient.
